BEGINNERS LEVEL 1 YOGA
6 WEEK INTRO TO KI YOGA WORKSHOP
MONDAY NIGHTS - 6.30PM

Theme: Seasonal, once a week for 6 weeks
Monday nights 6.30pm - 7.30pm


Time to start preparing the body for the seasonal change, it's Lung and Large Intestine time, a great opportunity to take in a big deep breath of inspiration, let go of anything that may be 'stuck'. Our foucs is on absorption and elimination, building strength and tone in the belly, waist and arms, whilst opening the lungs to aid breathing and increase vitality and immunity. Leverage off the opportunity to build up that internal fortitude, strength and warmth for the coming of Winter.

A six-week series designed to teach complete beginners the basics of yoga, including the fundamentals of alignment and breathing, as well as the practice of basic stretches, balancing poses, strengthening exercises and relaxation techniques. Class size is limited. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

BEGINNERS LEVEL 2 YOGA

Our new six-week follow on series especially designed to build upon the fundamentals learnt in Beginner Level 1 - this 6 week workshops explores all the basics on the mat from a deeper perspective with a focus on understanding and enjoying the art of movement. Working with the meridians this class celebrates moving safely, getting to know your edge and having fun! Class size is limited. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels.

PRE-NATAL YOGA COURSE
WEDNESDAY EVENINGS - 5.30 - 6.30pm

Pre-Natal yoga is a deliberate weaving together of yoga and childbirth preparation and opens the door for women to reclaim their physical, mental, and emotional power and receptivity during the birth process.
Pre-Natal yoga classes offer a place of refuge where women learn to connect with their changing bodies, their babies, and each other.
• Learn poses to prepare yourself both physically and emotionally for giving birth.
• Feel more confident and be physically prepared by assisting the body and the mind to connect and unite throughout the entire birth experience.
• Develop your awareness of body, mind, and breath and;
• Harness this innate wisdom when it's time to deliver.

Cultivate a regular pre-natal practice so that when the time comes, your movements and breath kick in instinctually. We work on 'gazing points' to help focus the attention, relaxing the jaw (to encourage the pelvis to release), and harnessing the power of the breath to make the most of every contraction. PreNatal yoga practice can help you to surrender to the energies, up to and including the time of giving birth, Learn to move and be with the energies instead of fighting and struggling against it.

Give yourself the time to re-connect with your instinctual self so you can be reminded of your innate wisdom.

Doing pre-natal yoga doesn't mean you'll have the 'perfect' birth; it means you'll be able to accept the perfection of the birth you're given, regardless of whether it goes according to your plan.

MUMS N BUBS YOGA
WEDNESDAY MORNINGS - 10.30AM

Geared for parents/carers and their children ranging in age from six weeks to six years, Mums n Bubs yoga classes offer families a valuable bonding opportunity within a supportive environment.

It is important for new mothers to resume their yoga practice soon after delivery in order to recover physically from the birth process and connect with others in their local community.
- Move, breathe and feel strong again
- Nurture yourself and find your inner stillness
Classes include a strong flow of energizing asanas followed by core strengthening. Children are welcome to join in or play with their toys nearby, and nappies chaged as necessary. We will weave breastfeeding breaks and temper tantrums into the sequences.

Class plans are adjusted not only according to energy levels or asana adeptness, but in response to the contagious effects of both crying and giggling fits and the utterly unpredictable attention spans of infants and toddlers! To keep things running as smoothly as possible, we may consider offering classes for different age groups. (Infant-only class for children aged six weeks to walking, and other classes for mixed ages.)

Please bring: Toys, Nappy Change Bags (please take nappies with you to dispose of) Nibbles, Water.

 

SKI PREPARATION SERIES

Booked your week away in Niseko yet? Or already pencilled in Hotham for a long weekend ? To get the most from your time away on skis, follow the wisdom of yogis and stretch and strengthen those muscles before you head off.

Perhaps the biggest benefit yoga can bring to your skiing is injury prevention. Skiing asks a lot from the body—cold muscles are called upon to perform a variety of functions, while dexterity, balance, and high levels of concentration are also a must. For skiers who hit the slopes sporadically, these athletic requisites are often too tough, and you can end up injured and disillusioned with the sport. By observing your body's imbalances, brought on by the particular movements of skiing, and employing a yoga program to bring your body into a state of equilibrium, you can avert injury and participate in the sport for years to come.

Note: Whilst not a health workshop, for those of you who suffer with menstrual problems or for some reason struggle with your bodies, this workshop is potentially enormously healing.

A ten-week series designed to teach complete beginners the basics of yoga, including the fundamentals of alignment and breathing, as well as the practice of basic stretches, balancing poses, strengthening exercises and relaxation techniques. Classes are themed according to the seasons and supplementary inspiring and educational information is provided weekly. Class size is limited to 20 students. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
